Claire Concannon (MCSP)
Neurological physiotherapist

Claire trained at Leeds Metropolitan University and graduated in physiotherapy in 2001. Following graduation she returned to her home town of Sheffield to take up a rotational physiotherapy post at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital (RHH). Since then she has rotated around key neurological fields including stroke rehabilitation, neurosurgery and progressive neurologies.

In 2005 she accepted the post of physiotherapy clinical lead for neuromedicine at the RHH encompassing the management of a diverse range of neurological conditions including stroke, Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinsons disease, Motor Neurone Disease, Guillan Barre Syndrome and Ataxia.

Claire has a strong interest in neurological rehabilitation and is working towards a Masters degree in this and is due to complete her adult basic Bobath course shortly. She is also an active member of the Sheffield Federation for Progressive Neurologies which works towards improving patient care and ensuring best practice.

Outside of work Claire is in the process of ‘doing up’ a very old house with her partner and is acquiring DIY skills at a worrying pace!
