Michael Reddington (MCSP MMACP)
Chartered Physiotherapist
Michael trained as a physiotherapist at the University of East Anglia (Norwich) and graduated in 1996. Upon graduation he returned to his roots in Sheffield, taking up a position in the Royal Hallamshire Hospital where he gained experience in a wide range of disciplines. Moving on from the Royal Hallamshire, Michael took up a senior post at the Children’s Hospital, gaining specialised experience in a range of children’s physiotherapy including orthopaedic conditions. Children’s orthopaedics remains an area of particular interest to Michael.
It was Michael’s love of sport, and particularly rugby, which took Michael to York to work in musculoskeletal outpatients. It was here that he gained valuable experience in a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions culminating in his appointment as an Extended Scope Practitioner (ESP) in knee conditions.
In June 2005 he returned to Sheffield to work as an ESP in spinal problems at the Northern General Hospital. Michael joined The Physios in October 2005 and says “I really enjoy the diversity of the work as well as the wonderful consulting rooms!”
Michael spends his spare time attempting to complete his MSc dissertation looking into chronic low back pain as well as a bit of gardening and the odd game of squash. He has recently married Orla and lives close to the practice.
