Tim Cook (MCSP)
Chartered Physiotherapist
It was Tim's love for sport, and rugby in particular, that first attracted him to a career in physiotherapy. He studied at Bradford University and graduated in 1998. Tim's first job was at the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield where he gained widespread experience in a number of specialities. As he progressed to a more senior level he began to specialise in musculoskeletal disorders and this led him to gain additional experience in Derby and Castleford.
In 2002, Tim took a year out to fulfil a lifelong ambition to travel the world, visiting Asia, Australiasia and America. On his return, he was appointed into a senior position at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals where he continues to practice and develop the service on a part-time basis.
Tim joined The Physios in October 2005 and has been a welcome addtion to the team. He says it is an inspiring place to work, with great colleagues and patients alike.
In September 2007 Tim commenced studying for his Masters in Physiotherapy at Sheffield Hallam University.
Until recently, Tim had a regular place in the Sheffield RUFC team but thinks that the time has come to devote more time to developing his career. This had not deterred him from making regular visits to their home games and can occasionally still be found providing pitch side assistance as well as playing the odd game!
Tim has had a busy couple of years on the personal front. He moved house - a draining but rewarding experience - and more recently married his fiance Sam.
