The Facts It is often difficult to know just how much of an impact a person's physical environment can have on their ability to work but take a look at these facts:
-
In 2005/06 an estimated 2.0 million people suffered from ill health which they thought was work-related, according to the Labour Force Survey (LFS)
-
More than 200,000 workers suffer from Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) or work related upper limb disorders (WRULD's) each year.
-
The number of working days lost through upper limb disorders has doubled since 1989.
-
More than two-thirds of workers have experienced pain in their back, neck or upper limbs because they sit for too long at their desk.
