Exercise & Rehabilitation
If you have been injured and are ready to start training again, the last thing in the world you want is for the injury to recur. That is why physiotherapy focuses on ensuring that you carry out functional strengthening exercises (i.e. routines that mimic the demands of the sport) to bolster the part of the body which has been injured. Such exercises will shore up muscles and connective tissues that have been weakened by trauma and disuse, thus allowing you to perform at your best and decrease the risk of future injury. We use a range of exercise techniques to ensure the best possible recovery:
- postural retraining
- free active strengthening
- active-assisted strengthening/mobilisation
- isometric/isotonic/resisted strengthening
- passive stretching
- hold-relax stretching
- hydrotherapy
- proprioceptive training
